Ridge of high pressure

Clear skies will persist today and Friday as ridge of high pressure continues to build over the BC coast.

The ridge is forecast to start shifting eastward later on Saturday. The first in series of weak low pressure systems will spread cloud over the south coast mountains Saturday night with the possibility of precipitation beginning Sunday.

Thursday..Mainly sunny.
Alpine high minus 3.
Freezing level rising to 1400 metres in the afternoon.
Mountain top winds northeast 10 km/h.

Thursday night..Mainly clear skies.
Alpine low minus 5.
Freezing level valley bottom.
Mountain top winds northeast 10 km/h.

Friday.. Mainly sunny.
Alpine high minus 2.
Freezing level 1500 metres.
Mountain top winds northeast 10 km/h.

Saturday.. Mainly sunny.
Freezing level rising to 2400 metres then lowering.

Sunday..Cloudy with light snow.
Snowfall amount 5 cm.
Freezing level 1400 metres.

Monday..Cloudy with light snow.
Snowfall amount 2 cm.
Freezing level 1200 metres.
