Moist and unstable

A moist and unstable flow over the South Coast will maintain occasional precipitation for this evening. On Wednesday a low pressure system offshore will approach the coast of Washington and brush the South Coast with a few showers or flurries.

The next significant system should affect the South Coast on Thursday with moderate precipitation and lower freezing levels. A stronger system will bring heavier precipitation and rising freezing levels on Friday followed by cooling on Saturday.

Tonight..Flurries ending late this evening then cloudy.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Alpine temperature steady near minus 2.
Freezing level 1400 metres.
Mountain top winds south 30 km/h becoming light overnight.

Wednesday.. Flurries beginning in the morning.
Snowfall accumulation up to 5 cm.
Alpine temperature steady near minus 2.
Freezing level 1300 metres.
Mountain top winds light.

Thursday.. Periods of snow.
Snowfall accumulation 10 to 15 cm.
Freezing level 1000 metres.

Friday.. Snow.
Snowfall accumulation 20 to 30 cm.
Freezing level 1500 metres.

Saturday.. Snow.
Snowfall accumulation 10 to 15 cm.
Freezing level 1000 metres.
