A weak onshore flow

A weak onshore flow over the South Coast today will give mainly cloudy skies and scattered flurries to the region. On Thursday a strong Pacific system will move onto the South Coast.

A low centre behind the front will move towards Northern Vancouver Island on Friday maintaining wet conditions over the Inner South Coast. On Saturday the low will and move eastward into the Interior leaving a somwewhat unstable airmass over the South Coast in its wake.

Today..Mainly cloudy with scattered flurries.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 2 cm.
Alpine high minus 6.
Freezing level at the valley bottom.
Mountain top winds light becoming southwest 20 km/h this afternoon.

Tonight..Cloudy with flurries.
Snowfall accumulation 2 to 4 cm.
Alpine low minus 7.
Freezing level at the valley bottom.
Mountain top winds southwest 30 km/h.

Thursday..Cloudy with scatterd morning flurries. Snow beginning in the afternoon.
Snowfall accumulation 4 to 8 cm.
Alpine high minus 6.
Freezing level at the valley bottom.
Mountain top winds southwest 30 increasing to southerly 30 to 50 km/h in the afternoon.

Friday..Snow heavy at times.
Snowfall accumulation 20 to 25 cm.
Freezing level 900 metres.

Saturday..Periods of snow.
Snowfall accumulation 15 cm.
Freezing level 900 metres.

Sunday..Mainly cloudy with a few flurries.
Snowfall accumulation 2 cm.
Freezing level 800 metres.
