Snow for the alpine

A Pacific frontal system will spread snow to the area today through Tuesday.

Today..Cloudy. A few flurries developing this morning.
Alpine high minus 2.
Snowfall accumulation 3 to 5 cm.
Freezing level 1200 metres rising to 1700 metres this afternoon.
Mountain top winds southeast 20 to 40 km/h.

Tonight..Snow.
Alpine low minus 3.
Snowfall accumulation 10 to 15 cm.
Freezing level lowering to 1400 metres overnight.
Mountain top winds southeast 40 to 60 km/h veering to southwest 50 overnight.

Tuesday..Periods of snow.
Alpine temperature steady near minus 3.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level 1400 metres.
Mountain top winds southwest 30 to 50 km/h.

5 Day Trend..An upper disturbance will remain off the coast bringing cool and unsettled weather Wednesday and Thursday. Conditions to improve on Friday as a weak ridge builds in.

Wednesday..Flurries.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level 1500 metres.

Thursday..Cloudy with sunny periods. 60 percent chance of flurries.
Snowfall accumulation 1 to 3 cm.
Freezing level 1500 metres.

Friday..A mix of sun and cloud.
Freezing level 1800 metres.
