A frontal system along the coast will give snow to the alpine regions today. Rising freezing levels this afternoon will result in snow becoming mixed with rain over lower elevations on the Northshore mountains. The front remains over the South Coast through Thursday giving snow to Whistler with freezing levels remaining high enough to give rain mixed with snow on the Northshore Mountains.

Snowfall accumulation 5 cm.
Freezing level at valley bottom rising to 1300 metres this afternoon.
Mountain top winds southwest 30 to 40 km/h increasing to 50 to 70 km/h early this morning.

Tonight..Snow.
Alpine low minus 5.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level lowering to near valley bottom.
Mountain top winds southwest 60 to 70 km/h.

Thursday..Snow.
Alpine high minus 4.
Snowfall accumulation 10 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom rising to 1300 metres in the afternoon.
Mountain top winds south 40 to 50 km/h.

Friday.. Periods of snow.
Snowfall accumulation 15 to 20 cm.
Freezing level 1000 metres.

Saturday.. A mix of sun and cloud with isolated flurries.
Snowfall accumulation trace.
Freezing level 1000 metres.

Sunday.. Mainly sunny.
Freezing level 800 metres.

5 Day Trend..Another frontal system will spread more rain mixed with snow on Friday. In the wake of the front a few scattered flurries are expected. A ridge of high pressure builds over the south coast on Sunday giving way to mostly sunny skies and lower freezing levels.
