Alpine Forecast Whistler

Snow

A frontal system approaching from the northwest is giving flurries to the alpine areas of the Whistler region this afternoon and will spread snow to the Northshore mountains this evening. A second system will move across the South Coast on Saturday bringing snow to alpine regions.

Tonight..Light flurries changing to snow by early evening.
Alpine low minus 6.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level falling to valley bottom.
Mountain top winds southwest 40 to 60 km/h gusting at times to 80 this evening.

Saturday..Morning flurries with snow developing in the afternoon.
Alpine temperature steady near minus 6.
Snowfall accumulation 10 to 15 cm.
Freezing level at valley bottom rising to 1000 metres in the afternoon.
Mountain top winds southerly 40 to 60 km/h.

Sunday..Flurries.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.

Monday..Flurries.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.

Tuesday..Flurries.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.

5 Day Trend..A trough of low pressure established over the Gulf of Alaska will result in a cool onshore flow persisting over the South Coast. A series of frontal systems will generate snow over the alpine areas from Sunday through Tuesday.
