Snow tonight/ tommorow
A low pressure system off the Oregon coast will slowly move a little closer to the South Coast Mountains tonight. A well organized band of heavier precipitation will move across the regions tonight into Tuesday morning. The low will start to weaken somewhat while moving across Washington state on Tuesday with precipitation and slightly lower freezing levels expected over the region.
Tonight..Increasing cloud with snow developing early this evening.
Mixed rain and snow at lower elevations changing to snow.
Alpine low minus 4.
Snowfall accumulation 3 to 7 cm near valley bottom and 5 to 10 cm at higher elevations.
Freezing level lowering to valley bottom this evening.
Mountain top winds southerly 20 to 30 km/h.
Tuesday..Periods of snow. Snow mixed with rain near valley bottom in the afternoon.
Alpine temperature steady near minus 4.
Snowfall accumulation 3 to 5 cm near valley bottom and 5 to 8 cm at higher elevations.
Freezing level valley bottom rising to 1000 metres in the afternoon.
Mountain top winds southwest 25 km/h.

Snowfall accumulations 10 to 15 cm valley bottom and 20 to 25 cm at higher elevations.
Freezing level near valley bottom.
Thursday.. Cloudy with sunny periods. Chance of flurries.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 2 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.
Friday.. Cloudy with sunny periods. Chance of flurries.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 2 cm.

5 Day Trend..The cooling trend will continue on Wednesday as an Arctic cold front approaches the region. As well more snow is forecast as another low approaching from the Pacific sends moisture over the South Coast Mountains. The Arctic front may retreat back to the north on Thursday resulting in slightly drier conditions with snow easing to scattered flurries and continuing into Friday.
