Snow on the way
A large low pressure system off the Oregon coast will slowly edge towards the region in the next couple of days. A weak trough in advance of the main system may give some light precipitation this morning.
A second and stronger disturbance will bring more organized precipitation over the South Coast Mountains by this afternoon and into tonight. In the wake of that disturbance drier conditions can be expected on Monday. However the main low pressure system will spread another round of organized precipitation to the region late in Monday.
Today..Cloudy with chance of morning flurries. Light snow developing over higher elevations this afternoon except rain over lower elevations.

Snowfall accumulation 1 to 2 cm. Rainfall amounts trace to 2 mm.
Freezing level valley bottom with an above freezing layer from 1500 metres to 2000 metres this morning. Freezing level 1000 metres this afternoon.
Mountain top winds southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50.
Tonight..Snow at higher elevations tapering to flurries overnight.
Showers at lower elevations changing to snow this evening.

Snowfall accumulations 5 to 8 cm at higher elevations and 2 to 5 cm at lower elevations.

Arctic air will advance towards the region on Wednesday spreading colder air and more snow. Drier and warmer conditions are expected on Thursday as the Arctic air retreats.
