Warm pool of air

A warm front will continue to give periods of drizzle or light snow to the alpine today along with very high freezing levels.
A saturated airmass will continue to produce cloudy skies and the chance of drizzle through early Tuesday afternoon.

Today..Cloudy with 40 percent chance of light snow.
Alpine high minus 1.
Freezing level 900 metres rising to 1400 metres this afternoon. An above freezing layer between 2000 and 2500 metres this afternoon.
Mountain top winds west 30 to 40 km/h.

Tonight..Cloudy with 30 percent chance of light snow.
Alpine low minus 3.
Freezing level 1400 metres lowering to 1000 metres overnight. An above freezing layer between 2000 and 2500 metres this evening.
Mountain top winds west 30 to 50 km/h.

Tuesday..Cloudy with 30 percent chance of light snow.
Alpine high plus 4.
Freezing level 1000 metres rising to 1400 metres in the afternoon with an above freezing layer between 2000 and 3000 metres.
Mountain top winds westerly 30 to 40 km/h.

Wednesday.. A mix of sun and cloud. Freezing level 3000 metres.

Thursday.. Sunny. Freezing level 3300 metres.

Friday.. Sunny. Freezing level 3500 metres.

5 Day Trend.. A strong ridge of high pressure will become established along the coast through the extended period producing a westerly flow of mild pacific air over the alpine of the south coast mountains. Freezing levels will remain very high through the period.
