Periods of snow

A warm front over the British Columbia coast will spread a few flurries today and tonight. Freezing levels will rise to about 1200 to 1500 metres late this afternoon as the warm front pushes across the south coast. The associated cold front will pass through the south coast on Friday bringing periods of snow Friday afternoon through evening.

Today..Cloudy with scattered flurries.
Alpine high minus 3.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 2 cm.
Freezing level valley bottom rising to 1200 metres late in the day.
Mountain top winds southwest 30 to 50 km/h.

Tonight..Cloudy with isolated flurries.
Alpine low minus 4.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 1 cm.
Freezing level 1200 metres.
Mountain top winds southwest 20 to 40 km/h.

Friday..Snow developing in the morning.
Alpine high minus 3.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level 1200 metres lowering to 800 metres in the afternoon.
Mountain top winds southwest 30 to 50 km/h increasing to 50 to 70 km/h near midday.

Saturday.. Cloudy with sunny periods. Isolated flurries.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 2 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.

Sunday.. Periods of light snow.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level 1200 metres.

Monday.. Cloudy with sunny periods. Scattered flurries.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 5 cm.
Freezing level 1400 metres.

5 Day Trend..Scattered flurries will linger on Saturday in the wake of the cold front with freezing levels lowering back. Another frontal system will pass through the south coast Sunday through Monday giving periods of snow or a few flurries. Freezing levels will rise to about 1500 metres on Monday with the passage of the warm front.
