A taste of the arctic

An arctic ridge of high pressure will give mainly clear skies with cold temperatures to the south coast today through Tuesday. Extreme windchill values close to -35 degrees are expected over the alpine today and tonight.

Freezing level at valley bottom.
Mountain top winds northwest 15 km/h.

Tonight..Clear.
Alpine temperature rising to minus 11.
Freezing level at valley bottom.
Mountain top winds northwest 15 km/h.

Tuesday..Mainly sunny at first. Increasing cloudiness late in the afternoon with 60 percent chance of flurries in the evening.
Alpine high minus 7.
Freezing level at valley bottom.
Mountain top winds west 15 km/h.

Wednesday.. A mix of sun and cloud. 60 percent chance of flurries.
Freezing level at valley bottom.

Thursday.. Sunny.
Freezing level at valley bottom.

Friday.. Sunny.
Freezing level at valley bottom.

5 Day Trend...A weak upper disturbance will move across the region on Wednesday spreading a few light flurries. Arctic ridge of high pressure will rebuild on Thursday bringing back sunny skies and cold temperatures Thursday through Friday.
