Approaching warm front

An approaching warm front will spread snow to the alpine beginning later this morning. Freezing levels will also rise overnight giving a change to rain for the Northshore mountains. Rain or snow continues through Saturday with a cold front moving through the south coast Saturday night. Freezing levels will once again lower in the wake of the cold front.

Alpine high minus 8.
Snowfall accumulation 5 cm.
Freezing level at valley bottom.
Mountain top winds southwest 20 km/h increasing to 60 km/h this afternoon.

Tonight..Snow.
Alpine temperature rising to minus 4.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.
Mountain top winds southwest 60 to 70 km/h.

Saturday..Snow.
Alpine high minus 4.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.
Mountain top winds southwest 60 km/h easing to 30 km/h in the afternoon.

Extended forecast for Whistler - Blackcomb.
Sunday.. Snow.
Snowfall accumulation 10 to 15 cm.
Freezing level at valley bottom.

Monday.. Snow.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level at valley bottom.

Tuesday.. Flurries.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Freezing level at valley bottom.

5 Day Trend..On Sunday unsettled conditions in the wake of the system will give a few flurries to the region. Another frontal system will spread more snow to the alpine Sunday evening through Monday. A broad upper trough will continue to give flurries on Tuesday.
