Snow ending early this afternoon

A series of low pressure systems will march over the region bringing snow today through tonight and rain on Wednesday.

Today..Snow ending early this afternoon then cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries. Alpine high zero. Snowfall accumulation 1 to 3 cm. Freezing level at valley bottom. Mountain top winds south 40 to 60 km/h easing to southwest 30 km/h in the afternoon.

Tonight..Periods of snow becoming mixed with rain overnight. Alpine temperature steady near plus 1. Snowfall accumulation 5 cm.
Rainfall amounts 2 to 4 mm. Freezing level near valley bottom rising to 2100 metres overnight. Mountain top winds southwest 30 km/h increasing around midnight to 40 km/h.

Wednesday..Rain mixed with wet snow. Alpine high plus 2. Snowfall accumulation trace. Rainfall amounts 10 to 20 mm. Freezing level 2100 metres. Mountain top winds southwest 30 to 50 km/h.

Thursday.. A Mix of Sun and Cloud. Freezing level near valley bottom.

Friday.. Cloudy with 40 percent chance of flurries. Snowfall accumulation 1 to 3 cm. Freezing level rising to 1600 metres.

Saturday.. A Mix of Sun and Cloud. Freezing level 1700 metres.

5 Day Trend..A ridge of high pressure will build over the region giving dry conditions on Thursday while a low pressure system tracking north of our area will spread a few flurries on Friday. On Saturday, a ridge of high pressure will bring dry and mainly cloudy conditions to our region.
