Flurries then Rain

A low pressure system over the Washington State will spread periods of snow to the region today. An upper trough of low pressure will produce isolated flurries tonight through Wednesday.

Today..Periods of snow ending this afternoon.
Alpine temperature steady near minus 5.
Snowfall accumulation 3 to 5 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.
Mountain top winds light and variable becoming southwest 20 km/h this afternoon.

Tonight..Cloudy. 30 percent chance of flurries.
Alpine low minus 8.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 1 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.
Mountain top winds southwest 20 km/h.

Wednesday..Cloudy with sunny periods. 40 percent chance of flurries.
Alpine high minus 5.
Snowfall accumulation trace to 1 cm.
Freezing level near valley bottom.
Mountain top winds light and variable.

5 Day Trend.. A series of frontal systems will bring snow or rain to the region Thursday through Saturday.

Thursday.. Snow changing to rain.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Rainfall amounts 15 to 25 mm.
Freezing level 1500 metres rising to 2300 metres.

Friday.. Periods of rain.
Rainfall amounts 15 to 25 mm.
Freezing level 2300 metres.

Saturday.. Periods of rain changing to periods of snow.
Snowfall accumulation 5 to 10 cm.
Rainfall amounts 10 to 15 mm.
Freezing level 2000 metres lowering to 1500 metres
